German Show Jumper - Ludger Beerbaum

A leading german showjumper Ludger has won many competitions & championships

Ludger Beerbaum and Couleur Rubin win the Deutschland Cup at Braunschweiger

The former world number one and multiple gold medallist, together with his 13 year old Cordalme Z/Grannus stallion were victorious in the very quick time of 35.91 seconds.

The final of the youngsters tour was an exciting event. There were a number of clears rounds to go to the jump off. The course was tight and technical in the small arena. There were nine clear rounds in the jump off and it came down to speed. Franke Sloothaak, riding Nouma D’Auzay the approved French stallion by Carthago out of a Quidam mare, who arrived in his barn only one week before the show, held the lead firmly until nearly the end, when Lars Nieberg stepped up on his Quick Star/Caletto I mare to snatch the lead. It was left to the final combination of Mylene Diederichsmeier to see if she could beat the two famous German men. It was not to be, but she placed a respectable third. An interesting combination entered into this class, was the 2008 German Olympic team member, Marco Kutscher riding Woytyla a Wolkenstein II gelding. It was also interesting to note the amount of French blood in the breeding of many of these future superstars. French blood has not been used much in Australia but would be an interesting mix, especially to add some sensitivity to the more old fashioned Holsteiner’s that have been used in abundance here. Our pick from the show, keep your eye on Nouma D’Auzay seems to be a special horse for the future. Remember you read it here first folks.

The famous stallion Air Jordan Z and his rider Daniel Deußer, who was infamously at the centre of a doping scandal at the 2007 world Cup finals, but was cleared, made a spectacular return to form winning the last class of the show the 1:55cm Volkswagon Grand Prix. Lars Nieberg topped off an excellent show with second place on the Landadel mare Lucie and Jeroen Dubbeldam, the Dutch medallist who rides Anky Van Grunsven’s showjumping horses placed third on the gelding Whisper.

German Federation dissolves national squads and bans Ludger Beerbaum

he German Equestrian Federation has disbanded its national squads (Olympic disciplines) and suspended a four-time Olympic champion following a string of allegations involving doping and illegal medication.

The dissolution of the squads is pending an internal investigation. There is much concern about the effect of the current doping controversies on the lucrative TV contracts that the German FN holds.

A three-member panel set up by the German Olympic committee will conduct an investigation, starting in June, into the several positive tests for medication ahead of the Beijing Olympics last summer.
The FN President Count Breido zu Ratzau said "With the dissolution of the squads, we want to take an important step towards credibility. Before riders can be put on a squad, they will have to front the Commission and declare their attitudes as well as their behaviours as elite riders."
"It's a radical move, with which the FN wants to conduct a comprehensive clearing up with the help of independent experts," said Michael Vesper, general director of the German Olympic Committee.
Beerbaum who was part of the Olympic show-jumping team, was suspended from Team participation after admitting to illegal practices last weekend in a newspaper interview.
"In the past I had the attitude: anything that isn't found is allowed," he told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sunday edition.
The German Equestrian Team won three gold one silver and one broze medal at the 2008 Olympic Games.

Why a Swiss entrepreneur pays millions for a horse

Prices are called like always none. But it is whispered that the Basler Thomas Straumann paid three million for the point horse universe Inclusive North-Rhine/Westphalia.
Without good horse also the best jumping rider does not win a flower pot. The heavier the Parcours, the more decisive for success fortunes and attitude the four-legged star are. The best horses are therefore a precious property. They are preserved, maintained and often explained for unsalable. If a requirement achieves the erkleckliche seven-place pain threshold, which has practically each owner, nevertheless now and then an exception horse changes such as universe Inclusive North-Rhine/Westphalia the hand. The ten-year Westphalia embankment oh, with the Ludger Beerbaum numerous victories in nation prices, large ones prices and Weltcupspringen celebrated and besides with the Olympic Games in Hong Kong reached 7th single rank, has now a Swiss passport.

Succeeded this coup to the Basler Springsportmäzen Thomas Straumann, which possesses also the hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel. It gives the jump-joyful brown ones from now on to the Irish Denis lynches in Beritt. “We support this outstanding rider for some years. With universe Inclusive we found a strong horse, it will further forward bring.” Lynch, a former Jockey, is at 22. Place of the current world rank list classifies and leads in German Münster a tournament stable. Co-operation between the family Straumann and the Irish professional rider is intensive. Not only that also its other Toppferde Lantinus, Nabab's Son, Abbervail het van thing yard and Upsilon more d'Ocquier in its possession is located, he trains also of them horse-enthusiastic daughter Flaminia and cares for her on tournaments. The ambitious new generation horsewoman is member Swiss of the junior B cadre. It will terminate in the summer the school and afterwards during a yearly on Lynchs plant, where also its horses stand, will train. “Flaminia used up itself completely the horse haven”, says Thomas Straumann. And at good Vierbeinern it does not lack her. Fifteen horses are registered with the Swiss federation for horse haven on their names.

Second became the quadruple olympia winner Ludger Beerbaum. Anna Jakob before Ludger Beerbaum - it gave already once: 2007 with the large price in Münster surprised the young Warburgerin the entire riding elite with its sensation victory of the Riders route stage. ” Münster will always somewhat particularly remain, because it was the first large victory. It is however beautiful to see that it was not a Eintagsfliege “, is pleased Anna Maria Jakob about the success in Mannheim, which will open it perhaps also further doors. ” I hope that I may ride along after this victory in the nation price season or other time “, look the 26-Jährige ahead. In Mannheim it ran for it already before the final very well. The qualification at the large price went it with the eight-year old Credo. ” I dared it simply times, in order to relieve louse boy. Credo made its thing super and the Quali loosely created “, explains Anna Maria Jakob.

Without release with a quarter time error it reached rank eight with Credo. In the” Championat of Mannheim “, one it saddled, reached three star it with stinging her parade horse louse boy the winner round and remained also here error free. The time was enough for the good sixth place. Rank one occupied tonuses hate man with” Laceful “. The qualification had before likewise completed it with louse boy and with four points of punishing place nine had occupied. It kept itself the completely large coup however for the conclusion jumping on Tuesday evening. In the Normalparcours the dream of stinging would have almost already burst. Three tournaments, on which it can measure again with the” large ones “of its guild. Before the German championships it grants itself one weekend tournament break. And then? ” Then planning is open “, says Anna Maria Jakob and hopes on an employment with one of the lining up nation prices.

Stallion Couleur Rubin

Couleur Rubin was the Vice-Champion of five year old German jumping horses, after having achieved tests of jump of classification "A," "L" and "M" in the series. He was ridden at "Oldenburger Hengsttage" in 1998, where he achieved first place. His capacities, style and appearance can be qualified only with superlatives. Judges of the national championship 2001 at Warendorf have equally noticed, and gave him the best scores of the year in all tests. In the professional press he has made headlines many times.

His appearances are in addition noted as the most refined. His sire Cordalmé Z has with Gilbert Böckmann achieved an international success in jumping; and has also achieved a national praise as an ideal sire for jumping horses since the beginning of his sire career. In 2000, two offspring of Cordalmé Z participated in the Sydney Olympic Games. Many sons of this high-class chestnut reach international levels. Couleur's dam, Grannuschka, has achieved national recognition, and is dam also to Conterno Grande. Now, with Coleur Rubin, she gives us another elite stallion. Coleur Rubin has participated in tests of performances in 1999 at Adelheidsdorf, where he received the best note in jumping.

Stallion Champion Du Lys

Champion du Lys is a grey performance stallion with charismatic presence. He has impressively demonstrated his abilities as an international show jumper with rider Ludger Beerbaum by winning 60 1.50 m classes, including the 2003 Hamburg Derby, plus competing in numerous Grand Prix and Nations Cups. Nevertheless, a successful stallion isn’t judged on its competition record alone, but also on the performance of its progeny, and Champion du Lys’ offspring are some of the very best. Despite only having been used sparingly for breeding purposes, Champion du Lys has produced top horses such as the approved stallion Caballero. He was the most expensive horse at the PSI Auction in 2006, won the World Championship for Show Jumping Horses in Lanaken and is already winning at 1.50 m level.

There are now 19 Champion du Lys offspring competing successfully at 1.50 m level. They include Chablis du Lys/Markus Merschformann, Cockney/Philipp Weishaupt and Ludger Beerbaum, Crossing Jordan/Alois Pollmann-Schweckhorst and the approved stallion Champion F.P. Champion du Lys’ progeny have collectively won over EUR 133,000 on the show jumping circuit. Champion du Lys has inherited excellent French sport genes from his grandsire Mexico (full brother to the famous stallion Furioso II) who has produced innumerable top class sports horses and flourishing stallion lines.

Equestrian Insurance Stallions

Gerardo Tazzer won the Burg Stables Prix for 6/7/8-yr-olds at 1997 CSO Valkenswaard on Champion du Lys. Champion du Lys started his sport career in 1994 in Mexico by the name of Sinatra under young rider Joaquin Perez, who won two championships on him in the USA. As a 5-yr-old the Mexican International rider Gerardo Tazzer jumped the grey under his original name and won the Silver Cup and the Mexican Championship for young horses {plus a car}. As a 7-yr-old he jumped twelve classes in Mexico (seven wins} before moving to Europe. Tazzer won another 1.40m competition in Geesteren before the stallion was sold to the coach of the German dressage team, Madeleine Winter-Schulze, to be made available to Ludger Beerbaum. Champion’s sire Laeken is state stud stallion of Saint Lô; he was born in 1977 out of a BWP mare (by Flügel, Han.} It is already remarkable that a stallion with his kind of pedigree - foreign warmblood - was licensed in France, but that he was also purchased by the French government is truly unique. Laeken has a jumping index (BSO} of +19 with a reliability of 91 percent. Champion’s dam Karène du Lys has a breeding value of 116 (81 percent}.
